Hot air balloon flights

The hot air balloon ride will last about one hour but you will need to allow 3-4 hours for the whole experience. You can fly from any of our launch sites in Hampshire and West Sussex. When you meet on the launch site you will be checked in. After the passenger safety briefing is complete the hot air balloon will be prepared for flight. As part of the experience you can if you wish help the crew. When all the safety checks are complete the adventure begins.

Weather conditions

Hot air ballooning is very weather dependent. We need light surface winds, below 10 mph with no rain and good visibility. We always obtain the latest weather forecasts before making a decision to fly. Passenger safety and enjoyment are our prime considerations so if conditions do force a cancellation we will rearrange your trip for the next mutually convenient date.

What do I wear?

We recommend you wear casual clothing suitable for a country walk, including long trousers and flat shoes or walking boots. Not short trousers, skirts or high heels. Please bear in mind that fields may be wet or muddy. A hat may be needed for those who are a little thin on top as the burner radiates heat. In a hot air balloon there is no wind chill and you are exposed to the morning (getting warmer) or evening (less warmth) sun.

Are there any restrictions on who can fly?

There are no age restrictions but you must be agile enough to climb in and out of the basket and stand for the duration of the flight. If you are in any doubt you should consult your Doctor. It is essential that you advise us of any medical condition (including pregnantsy). Children should be tall enough to see over the edge of the basket (1.2m) and must be accompanied by an adult.
